So many reasons to be grateful...
Do you practice gratitude? At Affordable Hearing we try to. It’s easy to overlook the little things in life. However, they’re often the ones that make the biggest difference. Our hearing aids are tiny, yet they can transform a life. Connect us to the busy, noisy world. Alert us to dangers. We love them. The old (ideally not waxy!), the new (so fancy!), the receiver in canal (our favourite!), the behind the ear (best friend stuff!), and the concealed in canal (you can hide but…) to name a few. We just love them.

Love your hearing aid? You aren’t alone………!
We’re super proud of our mission to make sustainable hearing aids ‘affordable’. A big part of that is our Hearing Aid Recycling initiative (more on that later). We love all hearing aids so much we want them to live long and happy lives too. Sometimes (like Black Beauty) they will have more than one home in a lifetime. Unlike Black Beauty we try to make sure they are always good homes. This week we received some donated hearing aids (destined for Ukraine) with the following note:
‘I hope these will be of use to others. My mother loved her hearing aids and kept them beside her bed at night time. As she was very interested in the world and the news in general. They kept her connected with her beloved TV and people. I hope they help someone else in the same way.’
It made us stop and think just how much we have to thank our hearing aids for!
For the love of your hearing aid!
Like all important relationships in life, our hearing aids need daily nurturing.
Nothing too onerous. As we sometimes say at Affordable Hearing HQ, ‘a wipe a day keeps the deafness at bay’. We recommend even just a quick once over with a dry cloth each morning. Helps keep your brilliant little hearing aid wax and dust free and ready for the day’s adventures ahead. How do you love yours? Worried your hearing aids need a bit more love. The devil's in the detail!
Like all best friends our hearing aids are ready and waiting to help us through thick and thin (if we play our part). I used to always have a pack of batteries in a small pocket of my bag. Now I have my smart charger. Our hearing aids don’t ever want to let us down for lack of sustenance!

It’s every day for us. It’s the best way. Helps nurture our cerebral connections so we’re ready and able for everything life has in store for us. Do you? Whether it’s catching up with friends, listening to the radio, lunch with the family or a walk in the park (we just love the sound of rustling leaves), we always wear our hearing aids with gratitude and pride.
Well, nearly always!
Maybe not in bed, bath, shower, steam room, swimming…. You get the picture. But nearly always. Maybe you have the Phonak Lumity Life waterproof aids and then it’s everywhere but bed for you?
Where does yours sleep at night?
Like the lady who inspired this homage to our hearing aids; it’s by the bed for us. How about you? We always love to hear from people and what better to hear about than what you’re most grateful for today. Or why not tell us where you keep yours at night? We hope both of you are always safe and warm. It doesn’t have to be a 5* hearing aid hotel. It’ll be just as happy snuggled up in the charger or a little pot. It’s always happiest right by your side!
The little things we love most....
We love our hearing aids in so many ways. However, it’s the little things that make all the difference. Bringing loved ones’ voices to life, slippers shuffling, the spoon in a teacup. Hearing aids are more than devices they’re bridges to moments that matter. Here are four people that matter the most (to me), (whose voices my hearing aids bring to me every day) on a bridge. We also love the Wombles at Affordable Hearing (not as much as the fearsome foursome on the bridge!). Here’s what they have to say about hearing aids!
