Love your hearing aids!
A little bit of hearing aid love goes a long way! Here’s some tips on how to keep your hearing aid in tiptoppety condition.
A wipe a day keeps the deafness at bay!
Even just giving your hearing aids a quick wipe at the end of each day before you tuck them up safely for the night will reap rewards in the long run! Here’s the low down on how you can show your hearing aids some life-lengthening love.
Weekly love for your hearing aids?
Each week remove your dome and have a really good look at your hearing aid. Make sure they are water, wax and wear (the 3 W’s of hearing aid care!) free. Use a small brush or wax hook if required to give them a good clean. Change the wax filter or dome as necessary. Check the batteries and off you go!
Monthly love for your hearing aids?
Every month or so give your hearing aids a more thorough clean. Use a moist (not wet) cloth or possibly an alcohol cleansing wipe. Continue the vigilant campaign established daily and weekly against water, wax and wear and tear. For excess moisture consider using a drying cup.
6-12 monthly love for your hearing aids?
Every 6 months give your hearing aids a really deep clean. Check the battery compartments and charger terminals for any wax and dust build up. Maybe pop them back to us for a service. Book your annual audiogram and call us if you have any concerns. Or need to address any new programming requirements.
Tips and trouble shooting!
Like us hearing aids thrive on kindness and loving care. There’s the ‘if you can’t fix it with duct tape or a Martini it isn’t worth fixing’ adage. All (nearly) hearing aids are worth fixing and the hearing aid equivalent of a cup of tea and biscuit (change the battery or charge them up!) and hot bath (wax filter and dome change) often work wonders.
The happy ending……
Your hearing aid is amazing as you are. Please show both of you love. Tea, biscuits, bath and a martini (any or all!) for you and consistent care, wax removal, warmth (not too!) and dry for your trusty hearing companion. Any problems do please get in touch.
